What Would Happen If Transplanted A Hair To The Donor Zone?

Okay so we all know the horseshoe is resistant to becoming completely bald, so what if a hair from the male pattern baldness zone was transplanted into the donor? Would that hair survive like the other hairs in the donor zone or would it die off?
I'm sort of playing off on the galea theory proposed by @IdealForehead

Yeah, that experiment was done in macaques. The hairs die off just the same (source). Same thing in humans if you transplant the hair to your arm (source).
