What will finasteride do to these vellus hairs?

I think they are vellus hairs. maybe they are the miniaturized remains of my hairline. My receded hairline is very thin except for the few (10 per cm^2) hairs that look very strong. I read the description of shiny slick scalp but if I look at my thin forelock area tangent to my scalp I can see tiny hairs that are nearly invisible from any other angle. They are all about 5mm long and very thin. Vellus may not be the right term. Are these the hairs that become thicker on propecia?

Considering propecia works for you, I guess yes. That's exactly what it should do, to thicken your existing hairs. In some cases I think it can even grow hairs that you had lost for good but that's really rare. That's why it's important even for responders to start finasteride early.
