What to do?

I guess I am here for the same reason the rest of us are. Hairloss! Guess I should share my problems before asking questions. I began to see a receding hairline in highschool and early college 18-19. Recently (Age 23)I decided to try Rogaine for last 3-4 months. I have seen no change and maybe even some added hairloss. I went to the Dermatologist last week whom I was hoping would recommend Propecia. He said it does not work on the receding hairlines and is only for the vortex or top of the head. Personally I think he does not know what he is talking about. I want to regrow and prevent future hairloss.

My questions
1) Anyone see results with Propecia on the front or receding hairlines

Thanks

some have yes. Be aware of the side effects. You should know to be safe. It's alot more than the 2% they say. Expect decreased/diminished libido at the very least

I am only losing on the hairline. Propecia saved my hairline and even gave me a few extra hairs alone before I hopped on minoxidil. Not enough regrowth to be considered significant, but the most important part is that is stopped the hair from falling out in the front.

If it didn't wok on the front, you would see quite a few guys walking around whop had half a hair of head.

The only tested the Vertex in the FDA trials (same with Rogaine) so that is all they can claim.

Use Propecia for your hairline, you'll be fine.

Bullshit I do not believe it is more than 2% People hear this sh*t from Dr. Lee because he wants to sell more topical spironolactone. I spoke with many medical doctors who prescrib this on a daily basis and none said that the incidence rate was higher. The FDA is brutally harsh on anything it approves so the numbers better damn well be correct.

I think people are buying un-regulated sh*t from third world countries and having more sides than the real product. They could be using any number of ingredients to formulate the pills. Back in the day when people made their own moonshine some would be good batches and others would make you go blind because the technology did not allow for regulation.

LOL @ redbone. Poor guy
Really LOL @ your comparison of propecia production to moonshine.

What was the last level of education you completed?

Hey redbone. I wouldn't take it that extreme. There are some studies linked to propecia that show it causing a more advanced form of prostate cancer (when it occurs), and there have also be studies show it does affect erectile tissue (at EXTREMEMELY LARGE doses in lab rats). That's why Dr. Lee has concern about propecia, not because he really want to sell more spironolactone. I visited him and he didn't even try to sell me any spironolactone until I asked him about it.

Here is my comment reffering libdo lost.
First of all being a single 23 old with no girlfriend it would not hurt me any. I figure if I am ugly and bald I have no chance of getting laid so lossing libdo would thus be irrelevent. I think I am going to try propecia all I have to loss is my libdo

1) Where is a good place online to get it?
2) Are the gerneric versions worth the time

Thanks for all your comments its very helpful

Bombscience, I think we should be careful with our wording here, your quote could be misconstrued by uninformed readers as 'propecia causes prostate cancer'. Sorry to be so picky but I think the message should be:

There are some studies that show that people who develop prostate cancer and are also using propecia are at risk from a more agressive (not advanced) form of the cancer.

Me, laughing at loud, picturing men in white lab suits, measuring rat penises, struggling to keep serious looks on their faces... "Hey doctor Smith, look at this little stud's thangy.."

Reads the same to me

my point was that someone may extract: "propecia causes a more advanced form of prostate cancer"

from your quote...

There are some studies linked to propecia that show it causing a more advanced form of prostate cancer (when it occurs)

...and infer that there is an established causal link between propecia and prostate cancer, or propecia causes prostate cancer (and an advanced form at that).

see what I am getting at?

maybe I should shut up?

Ty

P.S. I believe 'advanced' when used in reference to cancer means it is in a later more developed stage, 'aggressive' is used for a cancer that advances at a greater speed and is less responsive to treatment.

Stabber your regime wouldnt grow hair on an ape- you might as well shave off all your hair now so I can call you baldie.

My education is at a much higher level then yours my simple minded friend. 8) I compare moonshine to homebrew third world propecia becasue you do not know what you are getting. As I told you I have had many friends some of who are in jail now, that had basement labs. Making all type of drugs from steroids to thermgenics. They added such things as sesame oil and Milk of magnesia as a base and sold it to fools on the net.

My analogy of the moonshine is to just to prove how stupid you really are and it worked great. Your the one I feel sorry for because nothing in your regime will prevent hairloss.
