What to Do When the Big Three FAIL For You?

Hey guys, I've been researching, reading other users stories for about six months and I was just wondering: what are the logical steps for someone who 100% does not see results from the Big Three?

I fall in this category.

I've been on Propecia 6 Years
Rogaine Foam (Liquid before) for 5 Years
Nizoral for 4 Years

I started taking propecia without having any hair loss, I just took it because EVERYONE in my immediate family had thin hair, so I figured it was a good preventive measure!

However, I've been losing my hair gradually with time, temples receding and front part of hair thinning in a major way...so my question is, what does one do now?

I heard about dutasteride, spironolactone, etc, are there any generaly recommendations?

And I'm NOT bashing the BIG THREE, I have two friends who are using it after I started and they have BOTH had success. I'm just the odd one out :(

Heres my story for more info- thanks! viewtopic.php?f=28&t=64369

Some people don't like to hear this, as I can remember reading these forums years ago before my hair transplant and hearing the same thing from other people. But when you feel you are out of options, many people tend to look into surgery. For some, it has been great and they got the results they wanted. However, for me, it's been the worst thing that has happened to me. It isn't at all what I thought it would be, I've been stuck in front of the mirror for years struggling with toppik and the fear people will notice. There isn't a day that goes by where I wish I could go back and shave my head and say f it (but of course I can't because of the scar). And trust me, losing my hair hit me as hard as it hit anyone, it ruined my life for years. But if you do start to consider surgery- make sure you have enough money for multiple surgeries, know that you will have to worry about the scar everytime you swim, it rains, etc., and make sure that you know your existing hair may fall out. This may not be what you want to hear, but if it comes to the point of hairloss where you have to shave it or get surgery, strongly consider shaving, working out, and getting a nice tan- and just be happy about all the good things you have. Just make sure you weigh all of your options and hear stories from both sides. Good luck- it's only hair :)

As long as you stick to FUE surgeries you shouldn't need to worry about scarring as long as you grow even a little hair over the area.

If you get hair transplanted and it ends up looking bad and unfixable you can later have it removed one way or another.

the downside to this is the high cost
