Hi, bit of background. I'm from the UK and am 30 years old. Over the last few years I've noticed that my crown has gotten a lot worse so I about 3 years ago I started using Regaine for about 18 months and had no results what so ever in terms of regrowth, it could have however slowed the process down a little, then I stopped using for a while and have in the last 6 months been using Lipogaine twice a day and using the Lipogaine shampoo 3/4 times a week. I'm quite tall so I can hide it with my hair at the moment!

I'm just looking for any welcome advice on what to try next or what my best options would be? Should I have a transplant of some sort? Thanks for any help.

I know I will!

That's why I'm looking for advice before I get to the point of no return, unless you think it's too late. What natural remedies would you recommend?

You can try natural remedies but I would strongly suggest you trying Propecia and Rogaine as well, they have been effective for a lot of men with few side effects. You are definitely thinning on the crown but I think you can stop further loss with Propecia and hopefully thicken it up a little with Rogaine.

I was trying to avoid Propecia for as long as possible to be honest but if it's the only real choice left I'd give it a go. It's the sides that really put me off, what are the likelyhood of the sides? Does anyone know what sides are almost guaranteed and ones that could happen? Thanks.

Finasteride is your best bet. Natural treatments won't have any effect if you're not a DHT-inhibitor....finasteride will probably make your sperm a little watery and you could get a foggy brain for a few days. What happens in the long run is impossible to tell.
You could also add Minoxidil, it's meant for the crown area, which is your weakest spot. (You can apply it anywhere though.)

Your on the bus headed to Norwood 7 city. Natural treatments for hair loss like this? If you dont try propecia or even dutasteride id say just accept your fate. Nothing else is going to impact that.

Propecia has some horrer story sides though, that's the only thing putting me off.

Try it or stop looking for solutions, because there are none. Nobody can tell hoe your body will respond to finasteride. If it works you will be sorry you didn't start sooner.

Yea I guess mate, thanks.

Would anyone recommend a transplant at this stage and if so how many grafts do you think I'd need?

it is finasteride or bust at this point. I have been using it for nearly 3 years with no real side effects to write home about. It is not likely that you will have debilitating side effects, not likely at all.

Look at the studies. They are much more reliable than user feedback online. I think they were like 2-3% higher than the placebo group? or something like that. Finasteride is well tolerated by most people. Natural remedies are absolute garbage. Finasteride is really your best/only option right now. You will probably need a transplant as well to fill the crown in. Luckily you have very thick hair elsewhere, or at least it seems from the pictures, so a transplant will most likely be possible to fill the crown in. Even if you plan to go the hair transplant route, you will need to be on finasteride to prevent further loss.

Personally, I used finasteride for 2.5 years and it didn't stop or slow down my hair loss. I am on dutasteride now. No side effects whatsoever. And I am only 23. Wouldn't recommend dutasteride unless finasteride isn't working though, as there are more studies on its safety and efficacy for hair loss.

One possibility is to try a 15% Minoxidil lotion applied once daily. You may find a pharmacy in UK that can compound it for you. Beyond that finasteride is the greatest hope. I would likely be in the minority on this forum but I don't consider the potential sexual side effects worth the risk. Again, that's just my personal opinion and choice.
