What should I do if I don't want to take Propecia just yet?

Hi everyone, great community you have here! I have been lurking and trying to figure out the basics.

Anyways, I'm 22 years old and my Dad is bald as can be. By my age he was going noticeably bald, so I know I'm due for it soon. Two months ago, I started working out heavily for the first time in awhile and with my increased testosterone levels, I've noticed some thinning hair on my temples. It isn't severe, and its hard to notice unless I really look for it, but it is there.

Basically, I don't want to take Propecia yet, just because I don't think it is safe for me to do so. I'm a late bloomer, and I can't even grow a full beard yet, so I know I'm not done developing... I really don't want to mess with my hormones for another few years, just to be safe.

BUT, I do want to do something so I can maintain. I don't really need to regrow anything, but I don't want the thinning on my temples to continue. My question is, what is the BEST and most AFFORDABLE treatment regiment I could start at this time? I'm a poor college student, so price is an issue... :)

To maintain you need to prevent the DHT, so:

spironolactone cream,
Revivogen,
Fluridil
nizoral

but you may aswell try finasteride, it is cheap and effective if you don't get sides it's the best thing you can do. I wouldn't touch minoxidil yet.

If I was you I would shave my head. best thing i ever did. The girls love it too. I honestly don't know if getting on the meds was a good thing or a bad thing for me.
