Looks like NW2.5 or NW3. Its pretty tough to regrow on the front, your best bet is to use the big 3 to prevent future recession and thicken what you have left. The only thing that will bring that back to a NW1 is a transplant.

Looks like an advanced NW2, maybe NW3 depending what the back and top of your head is like. Good news is that Propecia has proved extremely effective at stabalising hairloss to a NW2 pattern, i.e. if you start treatments now you can maintain your hairloss to NW2.

NW2.5 my friend - it looks like it was NW2 not so long ago but you have recently been receding in the temples a bit further - pushing toward the old NW3 territory.

Yeah unfortunately ive been on minoxidil 5% for 2 years and on propecia for about 18mnths.

Its fairly apparent that it hasnt worked as my hairloss has continued, more worryingly ive developing gyno so ive had to drop it

All it would appear i can do is continue the minoxidil and use the spironolactone 5.

Is it possible that male pattern baldness can continue to a point and stop, becuase thats the only chance i have of retaining any hair

It has not worked because when i started treatment i was norwood 2,propecia has not regrown any of my hair or maintained it.(i took photos pre treatment)

The other argument is "its slowed your hairloss down".That may or may not be true but im not accepting the gyno to slow it down.

I know i have gyno because while i have been on propecia since around month 8,i got pains in my chest, and whether you believe it or not my chest has enlarged a bit.Im not overweight in the slightest etc etc,but when it comes to side effects you cant just ignore them and say im not in the less than 1% bracket-somebody has 2 be in it

re:

I have sides, I am just trying to make sure you are seperating gyno from sides. Gyno is not worth any result.
Sometimes individuals are pessimistic about their look, maybe it would be worth it to post before and after photos to determine the effectiveness of the treatment. I only say these things because, in my opinion, finasteride is far and away the best treatment and I hate to see people who are concerned about their hairloss stop the treatment, unless of course they have definitively determined that the drug is not effective for them or the sides are unbearable (i.e. gyno).
"Gynecomastia (American English) or gynaecomastia (British English) is the development of abnormally large breasts on men. The term comes from the Greek gyne meaning "woman" and mastos meaning "breast". The condition can occur physiologically in neonates, in adolescents, and in the elderly. In adolescent boys, 90% of such cases the symptoms disappear in a matter of months to a few years at most. It is generally a result of an imbalance in hormones, although there are many different root causes. Gynecomastia is not simply a buildup of adipose tissue, but includes the development of glandular tissue as well."
Are you sure you fit this?
"The condition usually can be diagnosed by examination by a physician. Occasionally, imaging by X-rays or ultrasound is needed to confirm the diagnosis. Blood tests are required to see if there is any underlying disease causing the gynecomastia."
and this?

The fact of the matter is i know my own body.I dont need xrays or medical examination of any kind to be sure that my chest has gotten bigger. This is a trend that started 3months into propecia.Gnyo is not a common affliction,i am perfectly healthy, increased estrogen as a result of the propecia is the only possible cause

To be quite honest though,if propecia had worked and i had a full head of hair i would take the b**ch tits.I can remember times about 6months ago when i would get sharp, painfull, recurring shooting pains throught my chest and i just ignored it. I would kill for hair,i would not be comming off propecia if it had benefited me in any way.

Having shaved my head i noticed that after 18mnths of propecia, with all the above concerns that my hairloss was infact worse. Therefore i just dont see the point of suffering twice over.

It also saddens me that i have been down ever possible hair loss prevention avenue, ive tried spironolactone, revivogen, all the crap of the day and none of it made a difference.

Then to put the icing on the cake,im only 19.I first posted here when i was 17.And after all of it,all of the obsession here i am 2 years later in the same boat, balder still.

For me,i am begining to conclude the only cure may be to somehow embrace the baldness,to accept it as part of who i am.

I didnt do any treatments for a few years and my hairloss stopped. Then, out of the blue, it kicked in again HARD. I got on the big 3 and Im fighting it now. It looks way better than before I begun treatment the 2nd time around, but still not quite as good as when it was in remission.

re:

You have done nothing wrong it is society that tries to make you feel guilty about hairloss. Be strong and do not let hairloss control you. Its very tough and all I can say is I understand your anxiety and that there are plenty of people in this world who judge other men and women by their character and not their looks.

all drugs have side effects and different people experience different side effects.

thing is, if the drug was effective, you might have difficulty choosing whether to carry on and put up with the b**** t***s.

but the drugs don't work in your case and i venture to suggest they only marginally work in even the best cases.

save your money and save the heartache....go visit a counsellor.

you need to be shown acceptance, understanding and empathy.

only a trained counsellor will give you that time and unconditionality to help you through this.

you will have to face up to the fact that you are going to lose more hair, possibly all.

it's not the end of the world, although it might seem like it now.

drop the drugs and sort your mind....do not let it fester any more.

a short course of counselling will do much more for your mental well being and be much cheaper than any drugs course.

goiod luck and god bless.
