I've been on and off finasteride, like a moron. I couldn't get a prescription because of slight liver damage (not from finasteride, from something else). Anyway...I'm almost 25, so I can probably hop back on finasteride and start looking into hair transplant.

you don't know if finasteride works for you and you are considering a transplant? bad idea man. What are you going to do if finasteride doesn't work? You are balding relatively quickly. You will get a transplant, then have to get another and another, etc... you could end up wasting your money, covering your head in scars, have a diffused thin hair, and ruining your life.

Not trying to scare you, but learn from me. MAKE 100% SURE YOU ARE ON finasteride FOR OVER A YEAR AND IT WORKS. THEN YOU ARE A GOOD CANDIDATE.

But he's only 25. Chances are that it will get worse in the next couple of years. I'd use Finasteride and Minoxidil for a couple of years and see where this gets me. If by 35 there's no receding I would consider a hair transplant.

35 hah. Take finasteride for a year to gauge effectiveness. Then get a transplant if it haults loss.
