What Norwood am I ? and should I start finasteride ? I'm afraid of side effect, and impotence !

My both grandfather had all their hair, my father started loosing them at 45. It's been 6 month, and I have the feeling that in 2 years I won't have hair anymore. Is it possible that the male pattern baldness is more aggressive in th begening or will it slow down. Also, should I start finasteride ?

Either could happen, could speed up or slow down at any time. Your loss is really really minor. You can start finasteride to be on the safe side but idk

no there is really nothing else to say. there is not much out there you can do for male pattern baldness or much information we can provide regarding your specific case

It doesn't seem to be much in my hairline, but i got diffuse thinning on the top

well if it is diffuse thinning you are guaranteed to end up looking like tony soprano or worse at some point, so I would definitely start finasteride

If you want you can monitor it for a few months to see if it gets any worse. Take pictures, don't go off of your memory as your mind will play tricks on you. I wouldn't worry about the side effects of finasteride, a lot of it is blown out of proportion. That being said, you shouldn't go on it unless you're sure you're balding. Try keeping a picture log. Every month take identical pictures and then compare about 3-6 months.
