What minoxidil does to healthy hairs.

I'm finding alot of questions being asked to as what affect minoxidil has on "healthy hair".

Fact is guys, if you have male pattern baldness, you don't have any healthy hair. From puberty every follicle has been affected, some quicker than others. The reason why you have a pattern is a result of the number of receptor sites on particular follicles.

Hairs within the "M" pattern and crown have more receptors than hair right at the front.

I argued this point with a hair transplant surgeon, but proved my point in the lab.

So what does minoxidil do to your "not so much yet affected" hair?

Boosts it. Boost it and affects it.

And if you stop minoxidil?

Your hair falls out.

And after that?

It'll regrow, don't be scared. But it'll regrow to its former self, sometimes a little thinner.

Advice?

If you start it, stopping it is more of a hassle than a negative affect. You can get close back to how you had it, but why stop and and start and go through the hassle of cycles?

More info..

1mL 1x day works just the same as 2x day. 22 Hour activity. 2x is overkill and sideaffect proned in my opinion.

It would be nice if there was some concrete evidence on how often you need to apply minoxidil. If you do only in fact need to apply once a day it would save some hassle as well as some money. What do the rest of you guys think about this?

How does 8.30am starts with 5.00pm finishes 5 days a week in Sydney North Lab sound to you?

Finding the activity stages in in active ingredient is amongst the easiest of techniques. And Minoxidil in 3 different cultures showed activity timing between 19hrs to 23 hrs. I used 5% Rogaine as the test subject.

You've become quite hostile towards me in now two different threads. What are your intentions?

I've mentioned before in different threads that I used minoxidil only once a day for the first year I was on it and had results. I've also read a thread on this forum somewhere confirming that minoxidil has a rather long half-life, so I don't have much of a doubt that once a day use can be quite effective. I don't know whether it's as effective as twice a day, but I don't see why it couldn't be a possibility. I think most folks probably don't leave it on their heads long enough to obtain maximum benefit from a single dose before it's washed out.

There was an article written (by Dr Sawaya, I believe) with a pretty good argument regarding the once a day dosage. I can't remember the details, but I bet Bryan may have heard of it.

I wonder how the alcohol content affects the effectiveness of minoxidil (i.e. Dr. Lee's versus Rogaine/Kirkland)

It seems that this "once a day application of rogaine" issue is quite popular these days. Or it was already, and I didn't notice.
Well, the more posts I read like these, the happier I become since I have the side effect (rapid heart beat). Could you give more info/link about the effectiveness of once a day application?
