I’m curious to hear from people who already had a hair transplant in Turkey or seriously considered it.

Before booking, many patients compare price, graft count, before-and-after photos, clinic reviews, and the total hair transplant cost in Turkey. But after reading more patient experiences, I feel that some important questions are often missed before making the final decision.

For those who went through the process, what is one question you wish you had asked the clinic before paying a deposit or traveling?

For example:

Who was actually involved in the surgery?
Who designed the hairline?
Who performed the channel opening?
How was the donor area evaluated?
Was the graft number realistic?
Were you shown 12-month results from similar cases?
Was aftercare clearly explained?
Did the final cost match the quote?

I think this could help people who are currently researching the best hair transplant clinic in Turkey or comparing clinics in Istanbul beyond just marketing photos and low prices.

Looking back, would you ask different questions before choosing your clinic?

For me, I wish I had asked more about the long-term plan rather than focusing mainly on the number of grafts. I ended up having around 5,000 grafts, and looking back I think understanding the donor area and how much could realistically be harvested would have been just as important as the immediate result.

I’d also ask to see results from patients with a similar level of hair loss, preferably at 12 months rather than just the early progress photos. That probably gives you a much better idea of what to realistically expect.

Looking back, I think I would have asked more about the long-term plan and donor management. I had my transplant at Istanbul Care when I was 23, with around 5,000 grafts, and one thing I appreciated was being able to discuss the overall plan rather than just the number of grafts for the first procedure.

I’d definitely ask who is actually doing each part of the surgery and how they’re planning around your future hair loss. Those details probably matter more than comparing package prices.
