Just strugling with my own sceptism here a bit..
What would the change be that a cure will hit the market that will regrow a full head of nice looking hair in about 3 years from now be??
That we will have hairs if we pay for it in max 5 years...
Any optimistic ppl out there??

I think the cure will be here by end of 2010. This research becomes exponentially tighter as they work out the kinks.

They are already growing hair they just have to figure out a few details. Those mighty rats will save us.

why do people go to forums to begin with.

to talk about subjects that interest them.

No more wasting time then watching TV or playing a video game.

this treatments is a sh*t!!!! the propecia if that works is ok! you dont have trouble to take it. but minoxidil! two times a day? and more topicals? anyday you dont do more nothing than put something in your hair! minoxidil make you hair messy! and the results are very minimal from all the drugs i have tested. today you can do so much things in medicine. if a girl have big breast she can take it. if a person is fat she can become thin with cirgury. you can make your face younger, man can go to moon!!! but the f*****g hairloss they dont know! its frustating.

hairloss isn't rocket science or plastic surgery. It's a biological/hormonal process. We know whats going on but we don't have the right means to completely stop and reverse it. He have options to slow it down and gain some back but it's always still there. Thats like saying .... we can put a man on the moon but we cant cure cancer or aids.

If you dont wanna do the treatments then stop and continue going bald. its that simple.

Typical American insurance does not cover hair loss treatments.

So that means a huge gap in possible financial success for such a drug.

So there is little incentive for drug companies to spend the money to research possible drugs.

Don't blame science, blame American insurance companies.

This is the problem when medicine is based around business and not the common good.

Eh......I would say its 50/50.

I wouldn't exactly consider male pattern baldness is big problem. I would rather scientists spend their time and resources elsewhere.

I don't think so. The research is where the money is. If the money was in curing warts thats where the research would be. The cash comes first.

It may not be a big one but its a long standing historical one.

Moreover, affects a lot of the population, can be a precursor to other psychological diseases and is assocated with various other degenerative diseases.

If you are looking for a cure to regrow your hair then try rogain and if that doesnt work your out of luck. It will be 10 years at the very least before its affordable and proven safe for the average joe. There will be more DHT inhibitors and rogain type treatments that attack different aspects of male pattern baldness, but maintaining is going to be the name of the game id say.

I think we have some good tools to fight hairloss. Finasteride and Dutasteride are the best. Combined with oral spironolactone or Flutamide it's all we need to maintain. To regrowth we have minoxidil.

Fifty years ago we add nothing of this. We were doomed to our fate. Now there's hope.

I too wish a treatment would come out that could stop hairloss permanently. However, you have to realize there are a lot more important things that the money and time could go into. Things like AIDS, cancer, and other diseases that aren't primarily cosmetic (like hairloss).

It is crap that they haven't found some better fixes for hairloss when women can get every treatment going to keep themsleves younger and fitter looking.

Hair is the only aesthetic bit of the body they haven't sorted even for movie stars.

Think it will get better before 2010 as HM may start and perhpas some other breakthrough when people see how much money can be made.

I think for HM though you need to have lost hair in last few years and preferably not NW7. If you've been NW7 for 10 yrs then I think getting a full head of hair even when HM is advanced isn't going to happen ..but who knows...
