Please, help me whith this doubt. Im 22, on finasteride since 19 and on minoxidil since 20 and quite nervous...In the last months (maybe 3 or more), my hair is getting thicker and ticker (no doubt about it, people said, i can feel it, it´s dark...)..that´s great! But at same time, my hair loss is too strong. Every thing i do, i lose lots of hairs...I made de pull test and came 4 in my fingers...Oh, and it also happens in the sides or back of my head!! (My dad is totaly bald). Could it be a shedding? But its lasting for ever!!
(sorry for the english, im from brazil..) TKS

Stop pulling your hair out, other than that just stay on the regimen, maybe add copper peptides and nizoral.

I know it sucks bro, losing your hair even though you are on the best available products. Maybe its a shed and will pass. Good luck and dont give up.

maybe those are just loose hairs in telogen. it is normal to shed 100 hairs a day, as long as they are getting replaced. how hard are you pulling? the fact that you can pull them on the sides tells me it is normal shedding or you are pulling too hard. can you get more hair if you keep pulling from the same spot, and not hard enough to hurt or feel tension in your scalp?

I'm getting the same thing. Hair loss all over. Sides, back. One side is showing scalp, not the temple but the whole side of my head. Weird. I have been on minoxidil for years. I stopped for a couple of weeks and no shed in the shower. Started up again and boom, shedding again. My scalp is starting to show. Is it possible that with minoxidil, even though I'm loosing a lot, I'm better off because they're being replaced? Or should I consider stopping because of the decrease in loss when I took a break? Thanks for any input!

There are many who shed numerous hairs on a daily basis and are not necessarily loosing their hair. There are many who do not notice any increase in shed hairs that are significantly loosing their hair at a rapid pace. In my opinion just keep an eye on your overall hair condition and especially if people are now complimenting you on your hair (this is a good sign!), stay with the same treatments and don't add anything else. It all depends on how much hair your regrow or replace shed hairs, thats its!

Well...this is the situation...
I always lost about 30 hairs per shower. Ive been loosing about 60 now, more then 100 for sure. And no doubt about it, im loosing all over my head. I counted 10 in my shirt!! And have no doubt about finasteride cause my sex drive is a sh*t! So:
-Visible hairloss;
-thick hair;
-Sudden and hard increase in hair lost;
-All over my head, not more in temples or crown;
Weel, it sounds like a efluvium...
How long can it be?
What else can i do (beside pray)?
Should i do any exams??????

Tks!!!!

keep on the finasteride and stick it out, maybe ad nizoral if the scalp is inflamed and itchy

did you have the flu or a high fever a few months back

Actually i just stopped nizoral for a wile because i´ve been using it for a long long time, then my Doctor asked me to stop it for a moment. No, i didnt have any high fever and..flu means efluvium? I know my hair loss had an increase in the last 4 monts, but this month it got stronger as im saying. If i was sure about the efluvium, no problem...the problem is if i was wrong and doing nothing about. :?
