Ignoring the obvious side effects from sprio compared to finasteride, in terms of halting hair loss and getting some regrowth what is more effective 200mg of spironolactone or 1 mg finasteride ?

i dont have anything solid to back this claim up but i would venture a guess that if both were taken independently of one another, finasteride would be better simply because it directly lowers your DHT and because it's a long term solution. you can't stay on 200mg spironolactone long term unless you want to pretty much be a menopausal woman. i know that might defeat the purpose of the question but it's a big factor. besides, in what situation would you be taking 200mg spironolactone but not be able to also take finasteride? i'd assume at that point sides are a non-factor anyway

im assuming you mean oral spironolactone. Yes it is much better then finasteride

if you mean topical spironolactone, not even close to being as good as finasteride

spironolactone will
1.Free bound estorgen
2.Lower Free testos
3.Inhibit 5ar
finasteride just
1.5ar inhibition
2.As more free testos is their, they would become free estrogen

AT any day, im ready to bet that spironolactone IS powerful then BOTH finasteride and dutasteride as a hair loss treatment. The reason why most don't use it is coz it has a.bad reputation of being used by transsexual for changing.
You can expect FULL recovery but sides will occur.

I really wish they could make a pill like spironolactone but have it only target your hair follicles and have no androgenic effect elsewhere on your body. Applying topically is a waste of time and finasteride can be too weak for some .

If you wanna get crazy just use RU, oral spironolactone, and dutasteride all at the same time. Its hard to see that not atleast halting hair loss although the main issue with all the treatments is DHT is not just a worthless hormone that causes male pattern baldness it has other functions. Which is why I would never go that route atleast nothing past finasteride.
