What Is Hairloss Like In Your Family?

I've started to notice that almost all of my friends who have a bald father, have a full head of hair. Most of which their grandfather on their mothers side of the family also has a full head of hair (or at least not bald) from what I've seen.

This has got me thinking whether the old myth that your hair genes come from your mothers side could have some truth to it. Obviously it's not true in all cases, but I'm yet to come across anyone with hairloss whose father is bald and also has a grandfather on his mother side with a full head of hair, excluding myself.

So I'm curious, what is hairloss like in your family for you guys?

My Dad is a NW3 at 55. He started losing in his late twenties and its taken 25 years to lose 2.5 NWs.

I hope I can go the same way as him!

He's dead but he was a NW6 in his seventies.

Probably a NW4 at 40.

I am a firm believer in your father, and his uncles will give you an idea where you are heading .

No surprise mine are all cue balls, and that's where I am heading.

Constantly see the horse shoe when the sides an back are grown. The thin hair on top wasnt enough apparently, on top of thinning the color pigmentation is completely different. Dark ash on the sides and back, while the top is lights brown.

f*****g pathetic hair genes. What a joke of a hand I have been given. Nevet In my entire life never once was I ever able to enjoy what a full dense head is like. Who starts receding at 16? sh*t genes.

I don't think anything screams trash genes to a women like balding as a teenager does. I'd be willing to bet, most women wouldn't even consider dating and having kids if they Knew.

Have your hair transplants not really lasted as you would have liked? You could always try a system as a last resort if nothing else is working, there's always other options.

Women really don't care as much as you think, you know. Most of them couldn't really care less about hair, or even looks for that matter. Besides us guys losing our hair is somewhat similar to when a girl is slightly overweight and thinks guys will think she's fat, when in actual fact we don't care. Just look at how many guys who are bald or ugly who have stunning girlfriends/wives. For example I was watching a guys hair transplant review earlier and came across his girlfriend's channel who happens to be very attractive and has 200k subscribers, in comparison to his 8k subscribers, so she obviously isn't with him for the money or anything like that. https://www.youtube.com/user/fillerup8/featured
You might say that this is just a one off or a coincidence, but I see examples like this so often, almost on a daily basis.

I have my hairline restored, but density is my biggest issue. My hair is so thin, and when combed forward scalp can be seen.

A hair piece is not an option for me or my life style. Already tried one, and absolutely hated it.

I would need a mega density procedure to put me in a state where I feel like my hair is semi normal. Grown out it looks like sh*t. 4000 in the future.

Hair is so thin, and brittle, it doesn't take on normal characteristics of healthy hair that over laps. My hair goes all over the place because there is no volume.

You tried concealers? Could be effective as a short term solution until your future transplant (if by 4000 you meant 4000 grafts)

Are you still losing hair while being on finasteride? I'm in the same boat, my fathers side are all NW7.

Mom's dad died in 80's with thick NW2-NW2.5
mom's brother in 60's with NW3ish
mom's brother in late 50's with thick NW2
my mom herself in 60's with juvenile, feminine hairline, no sign of noticeable hair loss whatsoever

Dad's side:
high *** hairlines on everyone of blood relation, even some of the women. My dad in his 60's is currently a thin NW4ish, noticeable crown loss only manifesting itself in recent years(although apparently he was on rogaine for like a decade+ and I had no idea. He's off it now)

Me: been receding since at least 15/16 years old (via photographs I recently discovered), now 27 year old, NW2.5 with thin front. My best guess is that my loss is taking the same pattern as my dad's, i.e. gradual lifelong recession
