What Is Dermarolling And How Does It Support Hair Growth Exactly?

In a 12-week study by Dhurat et al. (71), combination therapy consisting of weekly microneedling treatment and twice daily 5% minoxidil topical lotion showed a mean change in total hair count from baseline of 91.4 hairs/cm2, while 5% minoxidil topical lotion monotherapy showed a mean change in total hair count from baseline of 22.2 hairs/cm2 (p=0.039).
Further studies are needed to confirm superiority of combination therapies consisting of topical minoxidil, diclofenac and tea tree oil, topical minoxidil, azelaic acid and betamethasone or topical minoxidil and microneedling.

I tried dermarolling for about 6 weeks, I was very hopeful but sh*t I got no results from it lol. If anything, it just gave me hair fall (4-6 hairs) every time I use it and pull out the fragile hairs on my front hairline so I stopped. It works for some though, but not for me.

up to 1 mm needle it doesn't hurt at all, the pain is like when you get rash, thats it. But bigger needle are really painful and blood may ooze out from area of application.Does it hurt much?
How it works is that, the dermaroller has lots of micro needles which when rolled on the scalp/hairline creates lot of micro holes on the skin and as like any other injured area on our body blood circulation increases at the area of application and increases blood circulation helps hair growth. I dunno about the hair growth but it really does increases the blood flow you literally feel your head beating.
But the downside of dermaroller is that it is only good for hairline or you need to shave your head to use it all over the scalp because the roller tangles in hair. Better option is dermastamp (thanks to @AnxiousAndy for telling me about that) but thing is it is very much expensive than a dermaroller. But as for the hairline and front part dermaroller works great.

It is also known to boost minoxidil absorption (or any other topicals really). I find that using the dermaroller as a stamp helps alleviate any hair being pulled out. And if u do wanna roll don't do it over a large area, instead roll a few mm, lift up and move to another spot before continuing. I'm gonna order a 3mm dermastamp soon. Wish me luck lol

Honestly, im thinking about trying it for my hairline. Maybe help with the masks i am going to make ajd the assumption.
