well ive been to several dr's, each tell me a different opinion, and as only being 20 and seeing my hair falling off i dont want to take a risk as its scaring me. so im going to order some Finpecia to be on the safe side and see what happens.

the only issue is that if i take this and i really dont need it , could it cause excessive shredding and worst hair lost?

im really confused

It will "burn a hole" in your pocket if not needed. Honestly, don't take it if you have not been diagnosed with male pattern baldness. Better yet, spend 200 dollars and find out if you even have the gene for balding. If you do, then take it. I took it as a precaution and its been a waste of money and I think so far I have not benefited from it in anyway since it does nothing for your hairline and won't maintain even what you have.

Sorry, I meant to say in MY CASE it was of no benefit and did not help with MY hairline or help ME maintain my baseline before Propecia. Every case is different. I just feel disappointed in my results because I thought I would have at least maintained since I have always had a full head of hair and nothing I would consider aggressive.

I know you've changed your mind now Astro, but I just want to reiterate to any considering this question:

If you take finasteride and you don't have male pattern baldness, it might not do you any harm, but it might cause you a great deal of confusion. Two years down the line, when your hairline's the same as when you started, you will have no idea whether it stayed that way because of finasteride, or because you never had male pattern baldness. Thus, you'll not know whether to stop or not, in addition to putting yourself at the risk of sides and spending a lot of money.
