i think im a norwood 5...you guys can tell me what i am...im not bald on any spot on my head..i just recently buzzed the sides and shaved the top on a 3 or 4..i dont remember

im currently on foam, finasteride and nizoral and have been for the last 5 months

i was wondering if i could get a really short fade with the way my hair is..what do you guys think? my hair was much longer and id use dermmatch and hsr and you couldnt tell anything, but i shaved the top much shorter recently and just did the sides on 0 or 1(i have 2 head shavers and there both different)

i've also been shedding since month 2, it has slowed down but continues to

any answers/comments is very much appreciated..good or bad

1.what norwood am i?

2.can a fade suit me? a really short one?

thanks

i keep looking at the Norwood scale and i dont know which i am,i mean a Norwood 4-6 is complete bald on spots,i am not bald whatsoever anywhere on the top of my head,i kind of wish i didnt shave it shorter, but i think thats where it can look best while im on finasteride and foam

well again any comments is appreciate :)

I think keeping it buzzed would be the best without a fade. hmm 5 months on the big 3? do you have any before pics? Also, from what I keep reading about here, diffusers don't really fit into the Norwood scale since were diffuse thinners and not completely bald.

thanks for the reply! well the problem is i think the back looks alil weird..no? i mean from a side view it looks perfectly fine..anyone have any ides on how to blend the back?

ya heres one picture...one is from about a year ago b4 any treatments and the other one is 2 months into treatment, you can clearly see more hair growth on the crown,it may look slightly bald on top on the b4 picture, but theres hair, that was when i use to use hsr like crazy and no one ever said anything to me

i just wish i knew how to blend in the back, again the sides look good but wish the back would look good, hope someone has a suggestion

heres the b4 and after pic

yeah I can see its a lot better in the front in that last pic. If you're set on a fade, I think it would look good also :no homo: When I still had hair, I was fairly good at fading hair on the sides and back. I would do my friends and my own. I got good at using a mirror and fading my own.

how come your hair on the top looks so weird? is it because it is longer than the sides?

I think you should just shave the whole thing with a guard 1 or no guard

ya thats what i started doing a month ago or so,i can put dermmatch on and it doesnt look too weird or after 24 hours of shaving the sides shorter,it blends in

thats why i was asking if a fade would look good on me?

i wont buzz the whole thing the same guard because ive done it b4 and the top is much shorter than the sides and it will look like im bald, ive did when i started shaving my head

I don't think a fade would look too nice, even when your hair on the sides is so short they are way stronger then the hairs you have on top, it looks very weird even in the pictures.

You should shave it all off more frequently, so the sides stay the same length as the top

Yeah I think the fade on top makes it look a little weird, but photos are more deceiving and usually make it appear worse than it is.

I reckon it would look better with the same length blade all over, especially because it looks like you still don't have a bad hairline by the looks.

You have good potential for success as well I reckon, it is already looking better.

if i shave it all off the same length,it will look bald because top is thin, especially after a few days of shaving it all

heres a picture when i shaved it over a month ago all on a #1..youll see what im talking bout...let me know

i know what you mean, your contrast from your non balding area to your balding area is very big....

The best way to minimize it i guess is to shave the sides and back with a 1 and the top with a 2 or sides and back with a 0 and the top 1..

i just shaved the top on 1 and sides was buzzed earlier today on 0 and it looks much better..i was just worried about it being too short but it blends in much better..ill try and take a picture b4 i go sleep

and my hairline is ehhhhhhh its getting better...some success ive seen from some people here is amazing,so hopefully i respond just as good, its only been 5 months, and thinning doesnt bother me too much because all throughout highschool up until i was 24 i buzzed my head on a 0,just 2 years ago i wanted to grow it out,i hope i respond as well as others and i buy my finasteride from inhouse in case anyone was wondering

It looks fine as it is in my opinion. I think the trick with thinning hair is to keep it as short as possible. I have a grade 1 buzzcut all over and it makes my thinning temple hair blend in perfectly with the rest of my hair. If I grow it out, even to a grade 2, the contrast between the thinning and thick hair becomes immediately obvious.
