What person in your family do you think you got the baldness pattern from, and how accurately are you following them?

Im pretty sure im following my dad in his exact footsteps. Thin up front at 19, witha wide part. He kept most until 25, but never really got completely bald, and is age 57, but it will happen soon enough.

i wonder how many ppl follow exactly in a family members footsteps as far as baldness. Reason i ask is i wonder what odds i have of continuing to follow exactly in my dads path.

Not my dad's My dad started with crown balding ant then the front started receeding about 5 years later. This started when he was in his 40s.

My grandfather was completely bald when I was born (he was 55?) , so i don't know what his hairloss pattern was.

My Dad and his brother are quite bald, but didn't start until mid-late 30s. On my Mom's side all the men have hair. I have three half brothers from my Dad's side who all have diffuse thinning (again, only started in late 30s or 40s)

I was always told that I got my hair from my Mom and not to worry. When I told my parents last week they wouldn't even believe me!

it's funny, my brother who is 4 years older than me has a thick full of head, and all the male cousins i have are from my dad's side, and they're all over their mid 20s (some in their late 30s now) and all have full heads of hair. i'm hoping i'm taking after my dad who has a hairline, but has bad diffused thinning all over the top. of course, he's 60 now and started to lose his hair in his 40s. i'm only 25!

Thats when you have to think it might be something different than male pattern baldness. liek Alopecia Adrada. See a doctor and get some hormone work.

Don't know about my dad as my parents split when I was very young. That doesn't matter however, as it's my mum's hair I have without doubt. She has a norwood 2 type hairline, it's just it starts much further down so is not actually receeded. Her head is also very thin at the back and she drops TONS of hairs onto combs all the time! Curses!
