What exactly are people referring to with "temples"?

Isn't the front hairline (vertex) the first and most bothersome sign of hairloss? The crown is always mentioned, but that doesn't usually start until it progresses. Why are the temples always discussed, why not the hairline as much?

What you mean? In a regular male pattern baldness guy, the temples are the first thing to recede, its even shaped like an M, then the middle section thins as well.

i think your talking about the temporal points/peaks, which are the triangles on the side of your head, but temples are also the corners of your hairine
