What does this mean?

Hey guys let me introduce myself im 27 and just recently had the comments of "F*^%$ your going bald" i guess this hits me hard because i have always through my life been complimented about my hair. I loved to grow it long and style it short or medium. Its like 10 x better than any pair of diesel jeans or Ralp lauren polo shirts or cool fashion accessory.

I first noticed something strange when i looked into my side mirrors when driving and noticed that i could see my scalp when the sun was on it, i put my head in the car looked in the review mirror looked fine . . . then went again to side mirrors and OMG i can see scalp. So i did the dumb thing and shaved my hair 0 out of panic.

and as it regrew back im like . . it looks awfully thin and my hair looked dead lifeless. I thought it was me but then BAM went out to new years party and a mate said to me "oh my your getting awfully thin better get married soon". Biggest state of parnoida hit me.

anyways ive been on this site for such a long time had some laughs and did some research spoke to my local gp he said sides are too prelevant and didnt want me on propecia.

I told him that ive been under alot of stress building the family home big break up with girl and lost like 10 k in a months. Could it be stress i said? Dad died with full head of hair at 56 but uncles on mum sides are bald. he said mostly like male pattern baldness.

At the begining of when i shaved my hair i used to wash my hair with hand soap :p dont ask why i heard it made it stronger.

anyway my point is im still in limbo in which route to take but the only thing that stopping me is when i run my finger through my hair top and sides i feel little spikey hairs does that mean my hair is growing back or are they the dead or dying old hair that arent growing again. These hairs are all over does that mean i was suffer Telogen Effluvium how could i know what it means.

Thanks guys cant wait to be part of the Hairlosstalk.com community.

Those spikey hairs your feeling are signs that you are turning gay.

Just kidding!

Welcome to HairLossTalk.com forums, were we joke about bullshit a lot and talk about male pattern baldness a lot also!

I'm sorry to hear about the stress, but I doubt it is Telogen Effluvium, we all hope at first that we have Telogen Effluvium, but it ends up being male pattern baldness. How long has it been since you noticed you were thinning? You said your buddy pointed it out on new years, but you noticed it when you were driving a while back.

When I first started my battle with male pattern baldness, I also noticed those little spikey hairs. Its the hairs growing back from shedding, they are actually probably growing back a little bit wearker/thinner than before, because thats how male pattern baldness progresses. I say you see another Doctor, and get a hold of finasteride. If you do get sides then drop that sh*t, but if you don't than thats good because you will maintain your hair and probably get some thickening too.

Good Luck!

Sorry to be a downer but that 'spikey' feeling means absolutely nothing...everyone's got it.

finasteride is the only thing that will get to the bottom of your hair loss. See another Doctor if he won't prescribe it... the chances of sides are very low.

For now, until you can get on Propecia or Topical dutasteride or so forth, you should get on Rogaine Foam as quickly as possible. You can get started on that today or tomorrow, while you wait on trying to find a doctor to prescribe Propecia. Might as well get on Nizoral 2% also. Then at least you'll soon be on two portions of the Big 3 -- which is a much better situation than not using anything at all.

Well, the reason I recommended a doctor is so that he can also setup a schedule to check up his blood (to really make sure he isn't getting any bad sides).

Dont waste your time, get on finasteride and minoxidil asap. I would say that since you dont like how your hair is, dont do the mistake to go only for finasteride or only for minoxidil. Combine them since the results are believed to be synergistic.

Depending on the extent of your hairloss, I would actually advise you to try out propecia only first if you haven't lost much yet. If you have lost a considerable amount and want some massive regrowth, then use both. If you want maitenance and maybe some regrowth, try propecia by itself first for 1 year.

Yes, go for Finasteride at first!

Sure, seeing a doctor can´t be a mistake but it is a fact that most docs know sh*t about hairloss. I have heard of many docs who were trying to convince their patients that male pattern baldness can´t be treated. This might leave you back even more confused in the end.....

I never got my Cialis. :(

I wanted to try it out to see what would happen. Ordered it two weeks ago and it hasnt come yet. All my previous orders of dutasteride came within 7-9 days. I hope it wasn't picked up by customs.
