What does NANO actually do?

So if Nano and minoxidil work in a similar fashion, would using both be redundant?

Even more than that, I believe Dr. Proctor has suggested in the past on alt.baldspot that they are even synergistic.

Bryan

bryan, what do you think of this revita shampoo?

Ingredients
Water, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Coco-Glucoside, Caffeine, Ketoconazole, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Seed Extract, Aspalathus Linearis Leaf Extract (Roobios), Apple Polyphenol (Procyanidin B-1), Carnitine HCl, Ornitine HCl, Acetyl Cysteine, Dimethyl Sulfone (MSM), Taurine, Emu Oil, Biotin, Copper Peptides, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Spray Dried), Glycereth-7, Glycerin, Polyquaternium 10, Glycol Stearate, Menthyl Lactate (Menthol Derivative), EUK-134 (SOD Mimic/Spin Trap), PEG-150 Pentaerythrityl Tetrastearate, PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Menthol, Zinc PCA, Citric Acid, Sodium Chloride, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Tetrasodium EDTA, Red 40, Blue 1.

Do you think it will give any regrowth on its own? Would it work well when alternated with Nano?

Got my NANO (and Biotin) in today!! Like a kid on Christmas morning! :) I couldn't wait until tomorrow morning so I just washed my hair with it before I applied my evening Spectral DNC/foam application!

Should we really only be leaving it on the scalp for 1-2 minutes? Do we get any benefit from let this sit on our scalp for up to 10 minutes vs. 1-2 minutes? I always leave Nizoral on the scalp for about 5-10 minutes. 1-2 does not seem like enough but what the heck do I know. Jay? Bryan?

I asked Bryan this before and I don't quite remember the answer. I asked him about 5 for Nano versus the 1-2 Proctor recommends and I think he said it probably wouldn't make a difference. I leave it on for 2-3 minutes.

JayMan, how long do you leave in Nizoral for?

One other note about the NANO is that the shampoo is pretty liquidy. Looks like the pre-wash is still helping because I let a very small bit out and it still lathered up into my hair. I still think if that there's enough to see a lather in your hair than I'm using too much since I want the scalp to absorb this stuff!

The bottle always says to wait 3-6 months to notice results. Geez, 3 months from now I'd have been on Spectral DNC for 9.5 months. I have seen results already after 3.5 months and hopefully 6 months from now more of my diffuse patches will thicken up some to match the thicker patches!

I leave Nizoral in for 5 minutes. I'd do the same for Revita if I get it.

Nano is liquidy you are right. Nano also smells like a swimming pool with chlroine, which I love. Have you noticed this?

I'm going to leave the Revita on for as long as humanly possibly due to all of the STUFF it has and the price!

Actually, I thought the NANO smelled like pistachio pudding. I asked my wife to smell it and she concurred

Are you going to rinse your hair twice with it like it says? It says to put it in for 1-2 minutes, rinse out, then do 2-3 more minutes I think, then rinse again. What do you think?

From that Her site:

"After applying Revita with a gentle massage, you should leave it on the scalp from 1 - 2 minutes before rinsing. Then repeat and leave on the scalp 3 - 5 minutes. If desired, follow with a high quality conditioner. For optimal results, Revita should be used at least 5 times per week."

Jayman,

I think that it will be better to do that first prewash with anything cheaper, and if you want to use more revita, then use it more often. For me, the first wash is just to clean dirt - grease, and the second one, with the scalp clean, is the one that matters. It looks like they want everybody to use it up quicker, for obvious reasons.

Yeah, there's no WAY I'm going to rinse twice with Revita. Heck, I might do a pre-pre-wash with Suave first, than a pre-wash with Jason's T2T, and then leave on a tiny amount of Revita for up to 10 mins!!

I think somewhere on the Revita page they recommend leave it on for anywhere from 5-10 minutes.

This idea (a prewash with something cheap) might be a good idea for another reason -- Revita does not contain SLS or similar, and at least some products out there that do not contain SLS are quite simply not as good at the basic function of shampoo -- getting dirt and buildup off the hair and scalp -- as those that do. I have no idea whether Revita's "cleaning power" is as good as your basic SLS shampoo or not. (Of course, for many out there, the lack of SLS in Revita is a feature of the product, not a bug, but that is a debate you can find on plenty of other threads). I've placed my order and will be doing some trial and error in the coming days/weeks to see what might work best.

Bryan, would Nano cause the same puffy face side effect that minoxidil causes?

By what exact mechanism does minoxidil cause the bloated face side effect again? The effect is retained water in the facial tissues right?

I don't think NANO has the same side-effects that minoxidil does. It seems to be quite benign.
