What does NANO actually do?

Can somebody explain by what mechanism this stuff actually works towards helping regrow hair? I've done searches here and at HLH but can't find anything.

I mean doesn't reduce scalp DHT, or block androgen receptors, or none of the above like minoxidil???

I'm leaning towards getting some of the Proctor lite NANO shampoo (which also has Copper Peptides as well anyways so sounds better than going with Tricomin/Folligen shampoo) but am curious how this NANO ingredient actually works.

Thanks in advance.

I wish I could answer that.

I'm not sure why I bought NANO. The topical l-arginine and copper peptides are a good idea for a shampoo, but what NANO does...I have no clue. And have seen nothing scientific that suggests it does anything.

As soon as I get my Revita I'm giving it away.

Why would you give it away? DS Labs recommends using Revita 5x per week so whynot keep it for your off days?

Guess we'll have to keep on waiting for an expert (*cough* Bryan :)) to chime on this.

Nano contain among other things, nicotinic acid N-oxide, a blood vessel dialator, which is part of the chemical composition of minoxidil. Dr Procotor claims its effects are similar to minoxidil.

Hmmmm, but the actual mechanism of how minoxidil regrows hair is still unknown as there are other blood vessel dilators as well that do not regrow hair will minoxidil does.

I would assume that's not merely an assumption on the part of Dr. Proctor but that it's been tested to produce this same effect? I guess the question still remains is how NANO stimulates regrowth or if its effects are also unknown like minoxidil?

Revita will most likely be better than NANO because of all the other ingredients it has.

I asked you this before, but again, why do you plan on using Nizoral in addition to Revita? That's a ketoconazole overkill!

Bryan around? :)

im kinda confused of what nizoral ACTUALLY DOES. i have somewhat of a clue...but im still kinda new here so still learning.

I plan on using:

Revita-4 times a week
Nizoral 2 times a week

jasons thin to thick conditioner

then after i do that i will be using the Revivogen Scalp spray/Tricomin spray switching on and off

how often should u even use nizoral? and would i even need to use it with the Revita? or wait till i use my nizoral up then start on the Revita?

Honestly I'm confused about ketoconazole shampoo myself. Michael Barry posted something about hirutism scores, so I think that means the broads who were tested had lower testosterone. But if that's the case, I'm wondering why finasteride would lower testosterone counts, I would have thought the opposite would have occured.

Honestly I have no idea how ketoconazole works. Some sites say it helps prevents T being converted to DHT, but they don't say how. I've read here Nizoral is a mild DHT blocker, meaning it will help prevent DHT from attaching to the follicle.

It would be nice to hear exactly what ketoconazole does for hair loss. Does anyone know? Believe me I've done some searching here, and I'm pretty much clueless.

yea me too. I mean why buy all these expensive shampoos if Nizoral 2% percent works the same....do you guys use 2 or 1 percent? which would be better?

I plan on using topical l-ascorbic acid on my Revita off days, to help exfoliate, as well as for general scalp health., and I don't want it mixing with the copper peptides to form radicals. I used SOD topically everyday, so I'm not worried about missing a couple days a week of copper peptides.

Nizoral 2% is simply ketoconazole 2% shampoo. So Revita is Nizoral plus a bunch of things on top of that.

I use 2% by Dr. Lee. I switched over to Nizoral 1% for a while, thinking it would be smart to use it every day, and I found I was drying my hair out too much using the 2% every day. But then I read here that ketoconazole stays in your scalp in medical levels up to 72 hours, so I just use it every other day now, at 2%. Also, the nizoral 1% has a knack of making its way into my eyes and it stings. Dr. Lees shampoo stays on my head in a nice lather until it eventually soaks into my scalp, instead of running down my forehead and getting into my eyes.

What is that? Forming Radicals? i dont know what you meant? Here is my night time regime let me know if it sounds safe or if there would be any complications

1 Wash (Revita/Nizoral)
2 Condition (Jasons thin to thick/ Leftover Nioxin)
3 Tricomin or Revivogen Spray... let dry
4 spironolactone Cream

I meant to say free radicals (but radicals works too).

These are molecules with unpaired electrons, meaning they want to grab an electron from somewhere, anywhere, and will take it from your body. That's why we take anti-oxidants (or we should) because anti-oxidants will give the free radical the electron it wants, instead of it coming from our cells.

In Canada Nizoral 2% is available off the shelf, in the U.S. it used to be by prescription, it may still be, I'm not sure.

On the DS Labs website it said that Revita was 2% ketoconazole, so maybe something has changed.

I'm not doing it to help with hair loss, I just apply it to the rest of my body, so I want to get it on my scalp to. It increases collagen in skin. I've read a post by Old Baldy regarding ascorbic acid, but I forget what it said. Ascorbic acid is vitamin C, by the way. Reently I've learned l-ascorbic acid is the chirally correct type to use, by the way.

There was an interesting post reently regarding ascorbic acid phosphate 2-A,, which showed it resulted in hair regrowth, I think because it had a positive effect on keratinocyte growth factor.
