im gonna try to make this is as short as i can

i always get reactions to minoxidil so i tried the foam a month ago i got a huge red painful bump stopped right away


went to the derm she said it looks like folliculitis gave me antibiotics i took it it went down


now yesterday i got out of the shower like 15 hairs came off the spot where the bump once was


could this be alopecia areata ?? i see little hairs in that bald spot 1 day after but obv not enough how it was before

It's kinda hard to tell since the pics are so dark. But i wouldn't worry to much. I see people with little "bumps" in their hair all the time.

Chemical burn? If this bump is in reaction to a chemical that you put on it then AA is probably very far down on the list of possibilities. If you're already starting to get re-growth on that spot then it seems like it was merely an unfavorable reaction to the substance.

Ok so I just got back from another derm. He said it dosnt look like alopecia areata but he's not gonna take the risk. So he injected a cortisone shot. Without charging me. Very nice guy

He said if I never had it then its ok it'll do no harm

And if I happen to have it. It should help and he wants to see me around christmas time
