What Do You All Think? (hairline And Such)

(M/28)What do you guys think? Have thought about going to see a dermatologist to maybe get on something, I feel like my hairline is starting to recede. The top also seems like it has probably thinned out a little bit too.... Really don't want to lose my hair, any opinions would be greatly appreciated. My hair is also a bit long in these pictures, I'm afraid to cut for fear it might show bald spots. Am I over reacting?

I also wear my hat backwards a lot, and the snap sits right where i seem to be losing hair above my hairline. Could that be what's causing it? The traction from the hat? It's really hard for me to compare differences in my hair over the past 4 years because I am almost constantly wearing a hat. I started thinking my hairline looked difference and thought I was seeing changes maybe a month ago.

Yes you are starting to thin out. Good news is I would think taking finasteride and minoxidil would pretty much get you back to normal if you respond well.

I would get on it asap, however please read up on side effects of finasteride but whilst you do keep in mind you may not get any side effects and the people that have gotten the bad ones are something like 1%.

Your hairline actually looks good, by the way. It’s just the density - which finasteride and minoxidil would do wonders for you.

Thank you for the reply. What do you think would happen if I were to do nothing about it, would I continue to lose all of my hair, is this the start to balding? And what are the two bald lines in my hair near the hair line a result from, is that just from thinning? (You can see it in two last pictures in the original response) In other pictures it seems like I cover it up from pushing my hair back like in the seventh pictures from the last.. It looks just like a bald spot with a cluster of hair in the middle of it right above my hairline, is that thinning?

Yes, it is clearly thinning. If you do nothing about it, your androgenic alopecia will simply keep progressing. Your hair loss pattern seems so be diffuse, as you are losing density all around instead of getting discrete bald spots or receding. Fortunately, you are at a stage in which current treatments might save all of your hair and perhaps get you some regrowth. Get on them as soon as you can before it's too late and you lose more density. For an untrained eye, you are not balding (something that most forum members here would kill for) so be grateful and save your hair while you can, or simply accept it and shave it.
Good luck, pal
