What causes hair miniaturization?

Lately I've been looking at my shed hairs and they are getting thinner near the root ball. I know what this means obviously, but I'm wondering what causes it. See my regimen below... thanks.

Is the answer DHT and that's why nobody is responding?

there is nothing wrong with your regimen. you should replace the saw palmetto with and SOD, but as much stuff as you are using now, it is kind of scary that this is not working. I'll have a decent idea in a week or so if there are that many fake drugs out there.

My regimen wasn't really what I was concerned with. I've only been on finasteride for 3 months so I'm not expecting anything yet. Just wondering what causes miniaturization.

I appreciate the reply though. You're the only one courteous enough to take the time.

yes, its DHT, which signals the hair follicle to die sooner than normal, causing it to grow back smaller and smaller

^ thats correct i think.

i always hear dht, dht, dht, but people have said other factors are at work as well.

i heard that dht lables the follicle to be attacked by the immune system somehow, but I don't know how. i also heard that once a hair has miniturized enough, taking away the DHT may not save it.
