What came first for you? Gray hair or thinning?

This is just a random hair loss question I wanted to know. From the moment you noticed hair being lost, did you get your first gray hair yet or did hair loss come first? What age did it begin?

The vast majority of this forum are under 30, I don't expect many of them to have any grey hair.

Hair loss first. I'd say I got my first gray hairs about 7-9 years after male pattern baldness began. It's almost comforting to see gray hairs now, to know that hair survived long enough to turn gray... To reach 40 with a full(ish) head of salt and pepper gray hair would be a dream come true...

Depends on person to person because graying age is due to lifestyle etc while balding is genetic

Right and greying is not genetic? When I've known people in their 20's going salt and pepper - one of them a perfect athlete, well chiseled with good looks. And there wasn't anything about there lifestyle that would dictate this - like heavy stress, if that's what you're indicating.
