Dear All,
As I mentioned earlier in my previous thread, after taking this Post Exposure Prophylaxis for prevention of a potential HIV infection for 4 weeks, I have lost A LOT of hair on top of my head and on the crown. Whether it is due to the medication themselves, or immense stress for 4 weeks thinking I have contracted HIV, I dont know.
I have lost 40-50% of my hair in a matter of 2-3 weeks (more info on this thread if anyone is interested: https://www.hairlosstalk.com/intera...ir-in-a-month-devastated.119051/#post-1759906 )
However, at the same time when I started losing my hair, my face and scalp got oily, and my facial and body hair EXPLODED literally. Further to this, the hair that is remaining on my scalp (on the sides and the transplanted one that survived on top and crown), is growing incredibly fast. I went to few dermatologist and hair transplant specialists, and I always get different opinion, from male patterned baldness, to various forms of alopecia areata, stress induced hair loss, medication-induced hair loss, and I am starting to get desperate (actually been desperate for a longer while).
I wanted at least to go and check my hormones and blood, as I had scalp hair loss, oily face and scalp, extreme growth of body hair both where I had it before and where I didnt, I also had slight testicular pain, heart palpitations, depressed as hell, libido completely gone, semen completely weird and thick, and my facial hair started growing like crazy, and now I also have vellus hair on my cheeks right under my eyebrows where I never had them before etc. I am also tired all the time, and very intolerant of cold (maybe low thyroid, Im not sure). I just feel like crap all in all.
I wanted to do some blood tests, but not sure what to do, and the doctors dont seem interested either. Was thinking of the following:
- Cortisol
- Cholesterol levels
- Ferritin
- Thyroid
- Free and Total Testosterone
Is there anything else (particularly relating to hormones), that I should test that could potentially explain this wreck I am in right now, either due to the stupid medication or the insane stress I went through?
Many thanks in advance!
