What Are The Reasons That Propecia Does Not Work For Some People?

Do we know? I have been taking (generic) finasteride religiously for about 8 months. I can't really see that its doing anything. I see many threads agonizing over sides and dosages and all this hand wringing over something that seems like a sugar pill to me. And yet occasionally I glance at the Bernstein medical treatment before/afters and think what's wrong with this picture (literally)?

So in this thread I'm looking to gather what we know or theorize about why some people don't respond to (gasp) ***propecia*** - this drug that in my experience generates so much controversy for no reason. I'm familiar (a bit) with reflex hyperandrogenicity but are there other things we can look to to figure out why we don't respond?

Have people here who've had success with propecia tell me just how far gone their balding areas were? I have lots of hair still but its weak and miniaturized. Could it be too far gone for reversal?

Well even if I accept this, one could then pose the question, "what are the reasons dutasteride does not work for some people?" And I would think if the prob with propecia is it only addresses the one type of enzyme or whatever, then the result would still be a slowing down of hair loss, not no change or an acceleration. I would love to get my hands on some prescribed dutasteride though.

I think all the other hormones also play a role in hairloss. Just nobody ever measures them.
All the hormones are linked and we try to tune them to be favourable for our hair.
