Propecia is intended to only maintain the hair you have. Minoxidil is your best choice.

can anyone verify if this is true? the reason why i am awsking about propecia is because i was perscribed it by my doctor so it doesnt cost me anything more than my 15$ copay. clearly, if the other product works better i would still be willing to toss the extra money at it. at this stage of the game 50$ a month isnt really an issue just so long as its my best option out of the two.

If you have diffuse thinning or crown loss, then propecia will regrow/thicken up in those areas.

If you have a receding hairline, then it most likely won't regrow those parts. Maybe minimal regrowth.

i read elsewhere that it actually brought back some hair on the temples. the front ofthe head supposedly works, but they only test it on the back.

True but nothing is guaranteed, it regrows for some people, maintains for others and does nothing for some.

Same with the side effects but the vast majority are fine. Do you really think 10's of millions of men worldwide would take something that screws up their sex drive?
