What Antiandrogens would you recommend apart from finasteride & dutasteride?

I'm only taking Saw Palmetto (900mg), Nizoral once every other day, obviously these aren't as effective and proven as Finasteride and Dutasteride, but I'm really not prepared to risk taking them.

I've ordered some of the S5 cream off here (hasn't came yet, it's been a while since I ordered) but I don't really want to be ordering that every month.

Is there anything other than this stuff you would suggest?

I hear this RU58841 is meant to be good but a long way away from arriving on our shelves just yet. I'm just increasingly worried about my hairline moving up and my temples thinning, even though I've been on Regaine for 4 and a half months now, and feel I need to add something to my regimine, even if it's just to make me feel like i'm doing something.

I know you're scared...but the people that seem to suffer from permanent sides are in the EXTREME minority.

Read my success story

Now read this post I made about sides, and the percentages of other drugs and daily life tasks.

finasteride is the only FDA approved internal medication for male pattern baldness. So, your choces are kinda limited :-^

If you're willing to take saw palmetto then that's not that much of a step away from finasteride IMO, all the sides of finasteride none of the benefit, natural doesn't mean safe, cyanide is a chemical in apples, small amount, but the point is there are many natural things just waiting to do you damage.

You can make you're own spironolactone cream for about £6 a month, and order the spironolactone once every three months but PM me for details on that.

If you're looking at tackling a spot on the crown or the hairlines as opposed to diffuse thinning then keto cream could be what you're after.

Whether it works through being an anti androgen or not is unproven, but take something like Daktarin gold which can be picked up in boots it contains ketonazole 2% and polysorbate 60, two relatively unproven anti androgens for a cheap price (£5 for a month)

I don't think I'd even want the sides WHILST on finasteride as well, and also, what if my babies come out retarded, lol.

I'm not as close to being on the fence over finasteride, but i could be there soon if my thinning on the temples and hairline keeps getting worse.

I've got some of that keto cream, but not quite putting it on everyday, which i'll start to do.

I'll PM you about the spironolactone.

Your babies will not come out retarded. The finasteride is only transferred through blood, not semen. Even if you were worried about it, just get off of finasteride for a month, get your ladyfriend preggers, then get back on it. (finasteride has a short half-life).

Oh....I remember back when I said to myself "I'll start propecia when my hairline hits a certain point". I wish SO HARD that I could go back to that day with my current knowledge!!! I would have jumped on the propecia/finasteride right away. Here's the thing, it is 100x easier to MAINTAIN your hair than it is to grow it. Think if it like this, what's easier....keeping something alive, or raising something from the dead? 'Cause that really is what you're doing with your hair. "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."

I have been on finasteride for a bit over 3 years. I've maintained most of my hair, regrown some in the crown, but slowly lost it on the hairline. My older brother was NW5 @ 23 years old, and I have more hair than 12 out of 13 of my brothers or uncles (on both sides) did at 27. finasteride has been a lifesaver for me.
