Well, I got my merck proscar today...

I am going to try this official merck proscar and compare with the results with the "cheap indian finasteride" and post what I experience. I have been using the dr. reddy's finasteride for over 3 months and I believe is perfectly legit becuase of the side effects I had. However, I notice there is some descrepancy with the people on here so I wanted to experiment.


1st impressions is that, like the dr. reddy's, the merck comes in professional bubble wraped packaging. I will post all, if any differences, if I experience any. The merck is in spanish packaging, but if you look at the back, it is from spain... not some hoodlums in mexico, so that makes me feel better. The merck is a little more difficult to cut. The shape is not symmetrical, and the blue outer coating is more difficult to cut a solid cut then the dr. reddy's.

I ordered Merck Proscar from the key west pharmacy and it came in a white plastic bottle (like an advil container but larger). Did I get the wrong stuff or did you get the wrong stuff?

Can anyone help us out with this quandry?

Mine came from Key West in the same condition. It was legit.

Proscar is typically depensed in one of those clear, amber colored bottles. At least in my experience.

i think if they are both in the irregular shaped blue pill, with the appropriate engravings on each, then they are legit. Mine came in a proscar box with the blister packs inside.

Yes, it was made in spain. It is from a legit spain factory for merck though, the address and everything matches up on the package from merck's website with their spain operation. the pills are identical. They may still be manufactured in the US and use this address as a distribution point.

No, packages of 28 are produced overseas. It would be impossible to prove exactly where your pills come from, though.

They are still very much legitimate.

well... propecia = finasteride

just like, tylonol = acetometaphen (sp?)

and advil = ib profin


propecia is the brand name of finasteride...

proscar = 5 mg of finasteride

merck is just the brand name of the proscar.
