Weird white stuff on my hair

I'm losing a lot of hair, wich might be normal since I'm male. However, I'm a bit worried since at the end of each shed hair there is a white-ish bulb that i can remove quite easily, and underneath that one is another one, that can't be removed. does anyone else have these white bulbs on their shed hair? should I consult a doctor?

I get these bulbs on my hair, and a large amount of others on this forum do too.
In fact, a while ago, I plucked out some hair (in a small square patch) on my moustache area just to see if these bulbs were there too.
They showed up on most of the hairs I removed, and the hairs grew back in ~ 2-3 weeks time.
I think they're normal.

Someone more enlightened than I am can probably tell you what exactly those bulbs are.

I get them. Not on all my hairs that fall, but on some. I did a search a few weeks ago and although many people talk about having them, nobody seems to have a definite answer explaining what they are and why they are there.

I think they are just the thing that attaches your hair to your body. If the hair didn't have an anchor on the bottom of it, they'd never stay attached at all.
