Hello everyone,
This is my first post although i have been perusing these boards for a few months now picking up a few hints and tips, and i would like to say i think its a great active forum and you all seem very helpful
Im 26 and live in the UK, i have been thinning slowly for a few years, its still not too noticeable if i stlye the hair right. I have decided to try and do something about the thinning so im currently using tricomin shampoo and follicle spray everyday, and revita 2-3 times a week along with a few vitamins.
I realise this is a weak regimen and i iam aware of "the big 3" but the problem i have with Finasteride is that i have a bit of a medical history in that i suffered from Ulcerative Colitis (very similar to crohns disease) for 5 years and took around 25 various pills a day to try and control it, unfortunately i couldnt and eventually had to have my large intestine removed. To cut a long story short im now in good health and down to taking just 5mg of hydrocortisone a day in my quest to totally come off any pills or meds, and this is the reason that i will never risk taking Finasteride, i just dont want to jeapordise my health or incure any of the side effects.
So this leaves me with Minoxidil, like i said im at the stage where my hair looks ok, im worried that a huge shed on minoxidil would make it look terrible and frighten me to death.
Does anyone know if just one application of 2% minoxidil per night along with the tricomin would be of any benefit? and would there be less shedding than the 5% strength? I realise this still wouldnt be a strong regimen but im trying to do as much as i can with as little shedding as possible
Thanks in advance
