Weak regimen, scared of shedding and sides

Hello everyone,

This is my first post although i have been perusing these boards for a few months now picking up a few hints and tips, and i would like to say i think its a great active forum and you all seem very helpful

Im 26 and live in the UK, i have been thinning slowly for a few years, its still not too noticeable if i stlye the hair right. I have decided to try and do something about the thinning so im currently using tricomin shampoo and follicle spray everyday, and revita 2-3 times a week along with a few vitamins.

I realise this is a weak regimen and i iam aware of "the big 3" but the problem i have with Finasteride is that i have a bit of a medical history in that i suffered from Ulcerative Colitis (very similar to crohns disease) for 5 years and took around 25 various pills a day to try and control it, unfortunately i couldnt and eventually had to have my large intestine removed. To cut a long story short im now in good health and down to taking just 5mg of hydrocortisone a day in my quest to totally come off any pills or meds, and this is the reason that i will never risk taking Finasteride, i just dont want to jeapordise my health or incure any of the side effects.

So this leaves me with Minoxidil, like i said im at the stage where my hair looks ok, im worried that a huge shed on minoxidil would make it look terrible and frighten me to death.

Does anyone know if just one application of 2% minoxidil per night along with the tricomin would be of any benefit? and would there be less shedding than the 5% strength? I realise this still wouldnt be a strong regimen but im trying to do as much as i can with as little shedding as possible

Thanks in advance

I don't think you are going to know how it works
for you until you try it. For me minoxidil alone did
nothing at all, but others get good results. The biggest
thing I've found is that everyone reacts differently, what
works for me might not work for you and vice-versa.

And it works the same way for sides and shedding... I've
had none of either on what many consider a very strong regime.

Using propecia is not your only choice, you need to look in to topical anti androgens. I advise you to look through the website and treatments page.

http://www.hairlosstalk.com/shop/catalog/

There are also other anti androgens not supplied by HairLossTalk.com that are worth looking in to. Fluridil, proxiphen, xandrox.

If you're serious about tackling your hairloss, then get busy researching and welcome to the board :)

Hey thanks for the replies

Yeah other topicals is something i have been looking at, spironolactone seems to be the most popular, although its difficult to get it here in the UK, do you know of which topical would be the easiest to access from England?

Thanks

Hi again

Been looking at adding nano shampoo to my regime, have read a little about it, can anyone tell me what else is in it other than copper peptides? and also how often should you apply it? is it an everyday shampoo?

thanks again
