Ways to (NOT) Naturally Boost Your Testosterone Levels.

Hi guys, I'm new here. In the early stages of hairloss. I'm looking into ways of lowering my testosterone levels.

So I've found an article which shows ways of how to boost testosterone. I think by doing the opposite to what has been suggested here, can help to reduce your testosterone, and hopefully slow the rate of DHT and subsequent further hair loss.

http://www.timinvermont.com/fitness/boosttes.htm

Some of these ideas (e.g. less fatty/less 'western' diet, reduce heavy weight lifting, reduce sex/sex addiction.) combined with DHT blockers like Propecia. Sound like a good approach.

Castration seems to be the only sure-fire way of lowering testosterone to very low levels and halting hair loss. As has been documented that Eunuchs, and those who have had to undergo operations to remove their testicles due to accidents don't have incidents of hair loss. However, those who are already bald that have undergone castration or sex change operations, don't miraculously grow their hair back (indicating something rather 'permanent' about balding). I wouldn't recommend castration.

But like most things in life, if your hair is falling out, then it's quite likely that something else in your life isn't balanced. In my case my hair loss began in my late 20's, coincidentally around the same time that I became very sexually active, and addicted to sex. Also around this time I gained significant muscle mass. Becoming more 'manly'.

Interesting, although not surprising...

The question I wonder is whether one causes the other, or the other way around. That is, "Does marriage/settling down cause a lowering of testosterone" or "Does a lowering of testosterone from one's peak causes one to decide it's time to settle down?".

As they say, your sex life ends when you get married. And so therefore your testosterone falls (and hopefully the rate of balding slows/stops).

I think it's all related to the sex. not too sure about the holding baby thing, seems more a secondary observation.

Whenever you get in a relationship/meet a new sex partner. The sex rate starts high, and then falls off exponentially. You start by having great sex as much as 5+ times a night. Then falls to daily. Then over the years (at least not in my case, but the women tell me) they only get it once a week or a few times a month, and then the sex isn't even that great, throw in some kids, and your sex life is about as exciting on the testost-o-meter as an 8 year old boy.

I'd bet testosterone levels correspond to how much sex you're having. Perhaps by one of two ways (increased ejaculation, causing the testicles to produce more testosterone - would apply to masturbation aswell as sex. while endorphins released, may increase testosterone levels - would apply only to sex).

What do Tiger Woods, Ryan Giggs, and Wayne Rooney have in common? The height of their extra-marital sex occurred roughly during the same time they were balding.

Here we go:

http://www.bodybuildingweb.net/blog/eff ... ing-gains/

Testosterone level have been found in research to rise in humans after sexual stimuli (such as sexually explicit pictures). One study like this was published in New Scientist 22 Aug 98 11, done by Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Urban Ethology in Vienna. 10 men and 10 women viewed a 15 minute pornographic film. Men’s testosterone levels increased 100 percent afterwards, while women’s was 80 percent.

p**rn makes you Horny. Horniness drastically increases testosterone. In turn increasing DHT to your scalp. Resulting in your DHT-sensitive hair to fall out!

Studies dealing with testosterone levels and it’s effects during sexual acts and ejaculation, seem to be mostly done on animals. One study done on rats by the Instituto de Neuroetologia, Universidad Veracruzana, Xalapa, Ver., Mexico showed that after 2 ejaculations there was a steep rise in serum testosterone and remained higher even after 4 ejaculations in a row. Another study was done on stallions and mating by the Dipartimento di Scienze Cliniche Veterinarie, Sez. Clinica Ostetrica e Ginecologica Veterinaria. They found that testosterone levels rised 10 minutes after mating and then again 30 minutes into it. Cortisol levels also increased during the mating.

Ejaculation (From Sex or Masturbation or both?) also increases testosterone. Essentially you're taking your testicles to the gym to pump iron. Your testicles get used to producing more testosterone as your body needs it. If you have a non-existant sex life, (and maybe don't masturbate much either), then your testicles will get used to producing less testosterone.

Perhaps making such sex life adjustments, along with a DHT blocker like Propecia. (I think drugs like Propecia are mostly designed to just lower your testosterone a bit, maybe 20%, which is sufficient for a significant proportion of those suffering hair loss to slow/halt their progression. However if their testosterone levels haven't peaked yet, and therefore are still rising until around age 30-40, then this would explain why after a few years on these drugs, they may experience further hair loss again. And then coming off such a drug, will result in major rapid hair loss.)

Anyone else have thoughts on this? Would love to hear the thoughts of others who are more experienced in this. As I'm just drawing conclusions from limited knowledge, I'm certainly not the authority on this subject.
