Was I ever losing hair in the first place!? Finasteride two years.

Was I ever balding or was I just forming a mature hairline? All these pictures are from two years ago right before I started finasteride. I ask because I don’t wanna be on it if I don’t have to be. I’m adding a lot of photos, some styled, some not styled, and some pulled back. They are all within 6 months of eachother, right before I started finasteride. I was 24 at the time, now 26. I’ve been on finasteride for two years now

Dad and both grandpas have full head of hair. Both my uncles thinned out. Idk if I was ever really losing hair or if it was just maturing

You used Propecia in the first place without even knowing if you have Androgenetic Alopecia and I am the dick ? lol

I went to a few derms and they actually said conflicting things. One said I was maturing and the other said it was early stages of androgenic alopecia. It’s confusing tho cuz it’s the same process . A maturing hairline is just balding that stops. That’s why idk

Strangely my hairline improved a lot, but my density is lower then a couple years ago. I’m just wondering where I would be at if I never took finasteride, or if I stop taking it

In my opinion, you have noticeably better density at the temples. But you'd know better though because pictures can only tell so much. But sometimes recession can stop just like that, so youd really never know where youd be. Regardless, Id be stoked to be in your situation!

I wish I could know where I’d be at because I wanna stop taking the medicine. I hate taking medicine and my beard looks wayyyy thinner then it used to. Kinda wanted everyone’s input / advice

Facts, I was hyped to get a full beard going on but finasteride thinned it out bad. I dont even try anymore. I swear your hair has improved, I had my eyes checked the other day too.
Good luck beefing it out with the trolls though.

I answered you in the other thread but left this out. I understand where you are coming from. I take 0.25mg a day. I hate taking it also (I take no other medicines. Even hate taking Tylenol) but it was nearly driving me crazy wondering and checking. So I started taking it. Not 100% sure if I need it. Hopefully I actually don't need it so if I ever stop I'll be ok. Also if I don't need it then it will never stop working, because I sometimes do worry about if I do need it and it stops working. Your mind can be a true enemy. My has basically ruined my life. No excuses for it I should be able to beat my own mind. My life has been rough at times, going back to childhood, but I never let those things beat me. But my own mind has. Like I said, no excuses, it's my fault.

Word. I mean I clearly had a little recession before finasteride but idk If it was just a mature hairline . Thinking of stopping but I’d be pissed If I stopped and went to NW3

Your hairline is very similar to mine, specially the left temple. We're heading to a NW2

There's no such thing as "mature" hairline. It's baldness. A small degree one, but still baldness. You'll never now if it will keeps crawling back or stay like that. You should check your family history.

Still, on finasteride you can try to keep a juvenile hairline for a long time so it is worth it.
