Was at the gym about 8 months ago, and recognized a wig........

So I was at the gym, and I was heading back from one area to another, where you have to walk through a common walkway. Being the hair hawk that I am, when a guy who was going to pass the opposite direction, was about 10ft away from me, in the corner of my eye, I noticed something awry. He was just a normal looking guy, average height, average shape, about 35 years old I'd surmise, but something was off in my peripheral. So I immediately looked at the guys hairline, and it was a nice, fresh rug! Had the classic, no hairline, glue-on shine, way too perfect in a sh*t looking way throw rug look. Now when I say that, it still look "good", for a rug, but I notice even the slightest amount of dermmatch, so nobodies getting a f*****g squirrel pelt by me.

So I only looked at his hairline for maybe, a second, but that was enough. I stopped about another ten ft away, as if I were going to another machine, and start up. At that point I looked over, and saw him looking directly into the mirror and trying to see if something was amiss, if something was off, if there were some sod missing on the fairway. I can see he thought everything was in place, but 'how did that guy know? I know, or at least think I know he was looking at my hairline, so abruptly, like he knew it was a rug, or that something looked odd at least.....how did this happen?'

Well, either way, I saw the guy for another 5 minutes, and then never saw the guy again. Now could it be that it was just coincidence, and other gyms were starting to open back up, and he went back to his other gym........maybe. More likely, he was spooked by someone laser eyeing his shag rug and couldn't handle it, and went elsewhere.

Any guy who is self-conscious enough to wear a wig, and get 'caught', at least in his mind, in a gym no less, where you're working on your appearance, never mind the fact he's working out with a wig on his head, probably exited stage left, and went home and cried his eyes out in the dried out glue underside of his fake hair helmet. For hair to mean that much to one's daily life, is truly sad.

Personally I think that type of guy should just shave it, rip the rug glue band-aid off and just eat the initial pain and move on. If he were someone that just wore it because they liked it, had a good sense of humor about it, and weren't utterly destroyed by someone just noticing it, sure, wear it all, swim in it; but not this guy. Sad really.

If it's that easy to just shave it, why didn't you do it? You were willing to alter your hormones to stop your hair loss. Some people think that's crazy and vain.
I think you should just move on with your life and leave here. You have your hair back, why do you go on here? If I was in your predicament I'd move on too. Why waste your life on a hair loss forum when you don't have any hair loss?

Now I realize there's some condescending attitude coming from your comment, but I'll bite. Like I said, it depends on the person. I've always been pretty easy about it. Had a good sense of humor about it, and that's easy to say- but to the point- I've had the balls, and the confidence (a dirty word here haha), to show my progress via pictures from the beginning, when I was nearly bald. There's no pussy attitude here. As far as finasteride, that's a person to person decision. Being one of the lowest side effect profile drugs out there, I decided to try it. I'll also decide to try a trt regime sooner or later as well. Altering hormones there too. Is it all 'crazy and vain'? Ehh, depends on who you are as a person. I'm personally not any of that. I don't take any of it too seriously. That's probably something you should consider adopting, at least a little- as while I've posted a bit lately, you've clearly let this all take control of your life in many respects. no hair forum is wasting my life away haha. THINK DIFFERENTLY, OR GET HELP TRYING.

You spent time typing a 5 paragraph story about you spotting a man wearing a wig and how you projected that he was so insecure about the encounter that he didn't return to the facility. It's not a very interesting story, but it won't help people on this section of the forum. That's probably best for the impact of hair loss section. Either way, any guy with your hair loss success would move on.

Doesn't matter. I find a lot of topics interesting in one way or the other. It doesn't mean I'm in the depths of despair over any of them, which is what you've got going on here, which is unhealthy. Your logic is flawed.
