Ok MY Whole life I had a NW2, looking back at pictures even when I was 10 years old. IM 19 years old now. The thickness seems the same no bald spot on back. AM I 100 percent going to go bald because of my hairline? MY main concern is because my dad was completely bald by 25 and I mean Completely. I am holding out a little hope because no one on my moms side is bald. Ok is it likely to retain a NW2 for most of your life if you were born with it?

Of course you can be Norwood 2 your whole life. But, if your father was bald this early, you have really high chance of becoming bald too. I'm surprised you don't have any hairloss as for now. Of course you also have a chance of not becoming bald despite your father's baldness. What is the situation of your grandfathers? Are they bald?

Grandfather on Mother side is 70 and has Full head of hair, practically so signs of baldness. Grandfather On fathers has good hair except a bald spot on back and hes 74. The only one with major baldness is MY father which scares me because he went bald so young. I have my fathers hair color, I dont know if that is related to the male pattern baldness gene though?

Some people have good hair genetics, some have bad. I have never been a NW1 I was more like a 2.5 if anything and my hair has never been thick in density either.
And yes I went bald early and from what I've seen this is always the case with guys like us.
Look at a guy like judge Napolitano he's an old man and yet you'd be hard to find a 15 yr old who could match him for hair. Its obvious that he'll never be bald.

My next door neighnour is a NW7 and went bald in his 20's and his 7 yr old son has very receeded looking temples and thin hair. I predict this kid will follow in his fathers footsteps.

I think its fair to put this guy in the strong hair genetics catagory.

I feel for you atliens99, seeing blood-related family that have no hair freaks me out. My dad isn't bald but his hair is VERY thinned out. My grandfather on my mother's side was bald by 30 and that haunts me.

Keep an eye on your hair loss and start DHT-blockers. I went on Propecia at like 21, and although I stopped and started again, if it weren't for Propecia I would have lost way more hair if I hadn't started. They have topical / non-prescription DHT-blockers as well if Propecia is too expensive or you don't want to take meds (though I can't say how effective they are).
