Hi so I'm 21, I've been following these forums for a few years. My hair loss started 3 and a half years ago so when I was about to be 18. As many of you already know hairloss is pretty depressing especially when you're very young. It's affected me very negatively over the past few years especially this previous year. I'm around a norwood 2.5-3 I have no thinning had the back but my hairline is receding. The only thing I've been using is rogaine but it's not done much, I've been using it for 6 months. I've read about treatments in the near future which I am optimistic on but I still don't want to go bald in the mean time since I'm a first year uni student.
I've known about finasteride for over two years but have been hesitant to take it because of the stories on the internet. I went to my GP around 1 and a half years ago, she didn't want to prescribe it because she didn't want to mess with my hormones at a young age. I can probably get an online prescription. I've read recent studies such as the harvard one saying it's relatively safe the only thing that scares me are the stories of irreversible side effects and developing gyno. So it's a hard predicament.
To add to this I'm also 5'6. The only positive thing I'm doing is going gym, I've kept it up for 9 months.
