I want to start vitamin b5 as a acne treatment for my back chest and shoulders. I know my acne is caused by too much oil production and vit b5 knocks oil out very effectively. I tried it about 4-5 years ago and it gave me clear skin withing weeks. I would be taking between 4-5 grams a day. Now I heard couple stories when people said that they started loosing hair because of vit b5 and it's bad for hairloss.
Do you guys think that vit b5 could maybe accelerate male pattern baldness or has something in it that can trigger the loss of hair??

I don't know but I heard that too much of a particular b vitamin can trough the whole b complex out of balance and it's not good for you but I don't know exactly what it does.. if you happen to get on it again post the results, I also have oily skin and mild acne on my face and back and I'm looking to get rid of it naturally.

"I've seen a lot of posts complaining about hair loss on B5. I've got some theories for it. One is that if B5 does cause a Biotin deficiency then that in itself has been linked to hair loss.

The hair loss could also be due to an increase in androgen hormones by stimulating the adrenal glands, or alternatively because DHT can no longer bind to the sebaceous glands as they've been shrunk by the lack of Biotin there is more DHT left to bind to the hair follicles."

could any of these theories be right?

I hate to go against something I worry so much about. I finally am getting to the point when I am happy with my hair and don't want to ruin it. And I know that is the only way to stop my body acne.
