Viral Out Of Medications

So in the movie The Bourne Legacy, The main character is dependent on medication to survive. He undergoes a process where the medication is permanently ingrained in his DNA using a virus ("viraling out"). I wonder if this could ever be a real thing. If it were, would anybody be willing to viral out on finasteride or something else?
