My scalp is very thin on top. The directions on minoxidil say apply 1 ml twice a day. Since my hair is so thin should I use more than 1 ml? I have been using monoxidil for 30 years but the last 6 months my hair has really been thinning out. I have just added a 1.0 dermaroller to my treatment and it does seem the minoxidil absorbs into my scalp much better. The problem I have with using more Equate minoxidil is that it seems so oily and I would think it would clog the pores. When I overuse it drys and flakes like dandruff.

Why aren't you on finasteride? If you have been on minoxidil for 30 years and are now only losing your hair again then you have had incredible success with it, people are lucky to get 3 years of results of just minoxidil. You probably are in the top 1% of good responders. Maybe its time to just shave it off?

Thanks for the replies guys. Yes minoxidil has been very good to me but I think it has run its course altho since dermarolling it does seem to penetrate much better. The reason I'm hesitant about finasteride is I already use v**** to get a woody and have trouble with libido also. I also use saw palmetto for pissing because of enlarged prostate.

Finasteride was originally used for an enlarged prostate, if your saw palmetto use has not affected v**** then finasteride likely wont either.

Finasteride will help with the enlarged prostate more than saw palmetto, which BTW was probably helping your hair.
