Using Old System To Order A Custom?

After 2 years of wearing I've finally gotten used to removing the thing myself and cleaning etc. I went to the hair place yesterday as it was time for a fresh system and I finally was smart enough to get the idea to hang on to my old one, just in case. I'm still planning on going to the salon, but thinking if I ordered a custom I can cut down on the number of times I have to make the 1 hour+ trip.

My question is, when ordering a custom, would it work just to ship whoever my old system, and would they be able to just match the color, cut, and style from that? Would it be possible to send them that to show the color and shape of the base, but maybe try a different cut just to experiment?

I'd kinda rather just experiment with long hair or a wider base on my own before I request it from my hair people. But is there anyone that would just accept an old, unused system and just work from that?

Yes, it's a very good idea. If you have an old system that you like in terms of fit, base design etc., send it to your supplier and ask them to replicate it. If it is an old well-worn piece the density may be lower than you want for your new unit, and maybe the hair colour may not be on point, so you can send the supplier a hair sample and tell it what density you want for the new piece, either by reference to the supplier's scale or by sending in a photograph showing the density you want.

As far as I know, all suppliers would be happy to work from an old unit.
