Could get mocked for this one, but I don't see why it's so flawed logically considering I've heard people use minoxidil to grow a stronger beard.

So yes, the actual side of the head, below the temple points, for a lot of guys that recedes as well (this isn't me):

I started on propecia a year ago, and have been on minoxidil for a handful of years. It started and continues to make hair grow at the fringe, I even get little spots down my forehead (which I have to shave as they look ridiculous, isolated little stubble).

I also used to get hair growing inwards, towards my eyebrows, my hairdresser trims these. Although my fringe is coming back well I don't feel like my temples are doing as well as they should be, side profile view of my hair line is still a very thin looking view, from the front it's somewhat full though.

Anyway so I've been applying just a little bit of minoxidil to the actual side of the head, not the whole side of it but just where the hairline meets skin, in the hope of stimulating growth there and also making the temple a bit further up, start to grow inwards.

I've only been doing this for a week so obviously I'm a while off being able to report on results, but I'll come back and report if there is any significant difference, or if this was just a crackpot idea.

But even if there isn't a positive result, it's not a crazy idea is it? I've never heard it talked about before, but if guys are using minoxidil to grow facial hair, and on top of that I've had regrowth in that same area from using propecia not even minoxidil, then I don't see why it necessarily shouldn't work (but to be honest I wouldn't bet money that it definitely will work).

Thoughts?

My understanding is that minoxidil is a growth stimulant for hair. So it should work for any hair.

But I think it also has moderate systemic effects, so the precise application pattern matters little.

I apply handfuls of this beautiful foamy sh*t all over the head and boar bristle brush the hell out of it afterwards.

All over? Like literally everywhere? The hair around the ears, donor area, right down the top of the neck, etc

This idea makes perfect sense.
When I had my hair transplant, the surgeon suggested that, as soon as the stitches were removed and skin perfectly healed, I applied minoxidil on the donor area to ease the regrowth of hair all along the FUT scar, which experiences some shock loss just as the receiving area.
