Use only water to wash hair after minodoxil treatment, ok?

I naturally have very dry hair and usually add a bit of water in the morning to help in the winters.

Since I started using Rogaine, I read that you shouldn't wash your hair until 4 hours after application, but I've also read it only take half an hour to dry on your scalp. Does the solution drying naturally mean the scalp has absorbed the solution, or do you need to wait four hours regardless of if the solution dried to maximize effectiveness?

My big question is can I was the hair using ONLY water, no shampoo or other products, after application? In other words, does water by itself wash out the rogaine treatment on the scalp, or is it the shampoo that does so? I really like to wash my hair with water after the rogaine application, when dried, to make my hair more flexible and less dry.

Also appreciate any advice on combatting dryness and stiffness after using rogaine treatment. My boss has a very strict dress code/personal image thing culture going on. So it would be hard to show up at the office with really dry and fizzy, stiff hair.

Please advise! THANKS!

Why not just use it once a day, at night, and not worry about any of this? Its not necessary to use it twice a day. Just use more of it than usual, and dont wash it out until the morning.

And as a side note, tough bosses can be very annoying.

Because most people, including website, recommend to have 2 doses apart to maximize usage. So I was wondering how water affects the treatment.

Yeah, i know.

Topical Rogaine has a half life of 22 hours in the skin.
Of course the company wants people to use it more rather than less.
No one here is really going to know the answer to your question, but the common sense answer is, yes water alone will wash off a good amount of the Rogaine treatment that has not already absorbed into the skin, but not as much as if you also use soap. And no it will not be fully absorbed in 30 minutes, which is why it's recommended to leave it on several times longer than that before washing.

But why not just wet your hair with a damp/wet towel to help with styling? That would wet your hair without getting any water on your scalp, so it wouldn't interfere with the minoxidil at all.

I have asian hair. Hard to style still like that, but thanks for the suggestion with the towel. I will try!
