Urgent Took My 2,5mg Dosage Two Days Early

Hello everyone,

I've read a few threads on here but this is my first time with an account, posting, because I messed up.
I'm doing 2,5mg finasteride twice a week, Monday evenings and Friday's at lunch time.
I took the pill on monday and for some reason I was distracted enough to take it today as well, Wednesday, two days early. Meaning I currently have 5mg in my system, right?

Is this dangerous, should I do something???

The only thing you should do is keep taking it 3x a week. 2x may not really be effective enough. Do a MWF schedule or a Sun,Tue,Thurs wtv you feel comfortable with

This regimen was sugested by my dermatologist as an inital trial. And I am actually seeing some results already (about a month and half into it). I've stopped shedding almost immeditely and now it's started again which I think is the normal timeline, to have that inital shedding.

But either way, Is there not a problem with taking it too early?

Finasteride half life is around 7 hours ... with your regimen your dht goes down and up like a yoyo. Not really useful.

Which is why he needs to add at least one more day. The shed he's experiencing also prob isn't a good thing, hormones going in an out of whack can produce a shed with no regrowth

I don't recommend anyone to try dutasteride first thing, they may need it later in life when sh*t starts to go downhill on finasteride. If I was op I'd just take 2.5 eod

His hornones wont fluctuate, the half life is 7 hours but dht will be down for days, at least 3 with a slow progress of rising dht.

Why not just cut them in four and take mwf its just as effective as what your doing already

DHT is down for 3 days when you take finasteride everyday. No ?

I dont know what your trying to say, if u took finasteride once it would reduce dht for at least 2 days with a slow increase for about seven.

It's not the end of the world.

But it is dangerous (high dosages/five milligrams per day). Would not continue that pattern.

You'll more than likely f*** up your endocrine system.

You should cut the proscar into quarters so 1.25mg and take it once every two days. The drug isn't dose dependent above 1.25mg, 2.5mg will block an extra 1.5%ish of serum DHT so its kind of pointless, but after 48 hours your DHT will have risen half way back to normal levels so you should stick to 1.25 mg once every two days.

But after 3 or 4 days like this guy is doing it will rise half way back up. No studies on this, but surely yo yoing your DHT levels isn't effective or a good idea. It should be taken once a day or once every two days.

Actually theres a few studies on this, one is a chart that is measuring one dose. In this study around day two dht starts to rise but wasnt half way back and in reality the rise in dht seemed premature compared to other studies.
Ive read a number of storys and one study ive read says around two weeks dht feels like its rushing back (its still slowly rising), which seems to be a better standard for when dht will start to fluctuate.
Then theres merks actual study which states it probably takes about one month before 5 ar2 is fully replenished because finasteride irreversible binds to 5ar and the only way to replenish dht is to make new 5ar. But at the very least we can say about 2-3 days. Will his results fluctuate by taking twice a week, probably a little but its case by case. I doubt his dht will really be bouncing thou.

I meant there haven't been studies on the effects of letting your DHT rise and then clobbering it every 3 days and whether that is good for you. There will definitely be a tangible rise in DHT after 4 days off the drug like this guy was doing. It just makes more sense to follow the methods of the majority of propecia studies because then you have a better idea of potential results, but I agree that it "could" work fine taking it twice a week.
