I havent been visiting the site in a while, thought i'd update. I took 1 mg finasteride for about 14 months , and my diffuse hairloss continued throughout the year. I was shedding around 60 hair a day from all over including nape and sideburns.
My hairline did recede albeit very very slightly, and a little more towards the right temple than the left. I threw generic 5% minoxidil into my regimen about 2 and a half months ago.. and i'm about to start my 4th bottle.. (i use just slightly over 1 ml in the morning and at night so it finishes quicker).
Results, I went through a bad shed that lasted perhaps 3 weeks on the minoxidil, then it went back to the way it was before..losing the same 60 hair except i've regrown the hairline... i did not take pictures before, but i've got tons of tiny terminal hair all over the front which makes my hairline look the way it did 3 years ago. Also my right temple is 90 % the way it was before... before minoxidil i'd say it was around 80...
I've been using minoxidil ONLY at the hairline and right temple. Also, my temple used to look sick if had long hair...and i havent gotten my hair cut in 2 months now...so its DEFINITELY improved
. I can slick my hair back without worrying about the receded temple or hairline on the right side cause the tiny terminal hair cover it up just fine.
