UPDATE of my hairline in 5/18/2023. 1 year and 7 months on finasteride(Quit in january of 2023)

In short, i took finasteride from June 2021(age 21) to January 2023(age 22.5). Why did i quit? I didn't have sexual side effects, but i got a bloated *** face and gained 12/15KG while on it, having the SAME lifestyle and eating the same. I quit as soon as i realized this sh*t was making me fatter. I got feminine fat distribution down on my hips and in areas i never had fat. My hairline didn't change, but i noticed that my hair got thick overall, on the temples i had some thickness and it felt like finasteride was keeping my hair and preventing from receding. I am 4 months off finasteride and i'll show you what my hairline looks like after quitting and stopping the treatment.

I would say i am in the in between of NW1.5/2

What's your thoughts? I'm hopping back on finasteride only if i start to go past NW2.

It looks like a solid Norwood 1.5 to me, but with some diffuse thinning. I think that you should take pictures every few months and if you notice that the situation has worsened, then you should resume taking finasteride.

Ye, thats why i hopped on finasteride back in 2021, the diffuse thinning really bothers me. Having natural fine hair + diffuse thinning sucks, cuz you can't say for sure whether is just fine hair or diffuse thinning. My crown area is great though and i have good coverage on top. It gets fucked up when my hair gets greasy or wet.

Started with 0.5mg, then jumped to 1mg

Yes, but with mild diffuse thinning, unfortunately.
