Hi all...first time poster. I'm 22, and I just recently noticed my hair starting to thin (the top, not really the crown). I went to my Dr. for Propecia 2 weeks ago, and the last few days I have busted out in rash, and my lips have swollen up. He says I have to stop; I cannot take finasteride.

Right now I'm feeling really bummed. I felt unlucky before but held out hope that finasteride would serve me well. Now I find I don't even get the chance to find out.

For those of you who have for whatever reason had to discontinue finasteride (or couldn't use it to start with), what do you recommend? I've just looked into Revivogen a little bit. I want to get started ASAP. Thanks so much in advance, guys.

Lip rashes from Finasteride ...wow..I have never heard abt that.

How can you blame Finasteride for that?

Have you consulted your doctor? What does he say? Does he say Propecia is the cause?

Anyways..I suggest if you wanna go all topical way then Spironalactone and Revivogen Combo is a good choice.

Good luck and welcome to this forum!

Facial swelling is not common, but not unheard of either. It is mentioned in the literature you get with a bottle of propecia. Try PMing Hairlosstalk. I think he had to quit finasteride due to side effects and has been doing ok with topicals since then.

Also, read the product reviews here: http://www.hairlosstalk.com/research/me ... nt2men.htm

You might also want to look into eucapil/fluridil, and zix (zinc/B6 sollution).

There are quite a few topicals that are supposed to be of benefit as anti-androgens. I really don't have any first hand experiences with them though, so I'll leave you to make a decision on which you want to try yourself.
